The Story of Psydcar​

Psydcar began as a means for Raj to continue his musical creativity without the confines of a band scenario. From an early age, Raj has always been infatuated with music. This would later develop into a life's work combining his love for progressive and mainstream rock, R&B, pop, metal, post-hardcore, and emo.

Raj's first band experience came in the form of Musashi, a garage band formed in the late 90's with friends Chris Rauber and Mike O'Neal. Throughout the band's existance, life and distances hampered the progress of the band. Talk of a reunion, as of recent, have been floating around . . .

Raj would then have a short stint as rhythm guitarist with rock/nu-metal band Point Taken until differences caused the eventual split of the band.

Raj's first full time band was The Last Drive, formed in 2003. This experience would be the launchpad from which the initial method of Psydcar would be developed. Although creative differences would seperate the band permanently in 2006, Raj would take his love for music and his fans with him on his cross-country journey to Seattle, where Psydcar (Sidecar) was initially conceived.

From both a lyrical and musical standpoint, Psydcar strives for excellence. Raj's foundation in both rock and R&B gives a very unique and refreshing approach to modern blues. Musically, Raj has stretched the limits and expectations of acoustic music through his love of progressive rock, metal, and post-hardcore. Instead of traditional progressions and folk method, Raj seeks to express the inner turmoil and conflicts that lie beneath the calm exterior that makes him a fan favorite by using more modern methods. Lyrically, Raj's philosphical studies and his socio-psychological curiosity takes form as a free-versed autobiografical account of his life throught the metaphors of unrequited love and multiple personality disorders. His practical knowledge of Nihlism, Zen Buddhism, Christianity, and Hinduism shapes the container by which the message of self-realization is presented and enjoyed.

As an avid artist, Raj brings a new creative outlook to the music business by being an all-inclusive act. All the artwork seen in his liner notes and webpages comes directly from him. Moreover, Raj focuses the artwork to augment the true life story behind his musical works.

In short, Psydcar is not only a musical endeavor, it is an artistic endeavor taking multiple forms in order to convey one all-pervading message: The quest for inner peace and immortality that motivates the thinking man, mirroring it's very creator and his many mediums of expression.
